Amanda has a task, a quest—to give her best friend the ultimate bachelorette party without going broke. She wants to take the bride somewhere unforgettable, but any destination party seems far out of her price range. Fortunately, Nashville offers everything a bachelorette party could want without breaking the bank. Happily, Amanda begins to research, desperate to know the best hotels, restaurants, and activities for her friends.
Getting to Nashville:
Amanda considers driving to Nashville, but at four hours, it’s a little too far. Instead, she decides to fly, a little more expensive, but much easier. She also checks the weather to make sure skies are sunny and clear.
Hotels:
Amanda finds a lot of hotels, but she needs one either Downtown or in the Gulch where she and her friends will be closer to everything without the hassle of renting an uber or Lyft. In her research, she finds this guide on fantastic hotels.
Restaurants:
Nashville has some amazing restaurants, and Amanda is going to have a hard time choosing, but she finds several that look promising, including:
Breakfast:
- Biscuit Love—a breakfast place serving, you’ll never guess it: biscuits! One of their dishes was named Bon Appétit magazine’s Best Sandwich in America in 2015.
- Pinewood Social—what restaurant wouldn’t benefit from a pool, a bocce ball court, and a bowling alley?
- The Loveless Cafe—classic Southern food, open since 1951!
Lunch:
- Hattie B’s—This casual restaurant serves super hot chicken. Warning, it gets really busy.
- Edley’s Bar-B-Que—This bar-b-que restaurant calls itself a “tribute to all things Southern.” Try the pulled pork. It’s delicious.
- Farm Burger—Do you like burgers? Who doesn’t? Plus, these burgers are from grassfed cows, and the restaurant sources from fresh, local ingredients.
- Acme Feed & Seed—An updated honky tonk and an upscale sushi bar—Acme features two restaurants in one building and some great views of Nashville.
Dinner:
- Virago—This upscale Asian and sushi restaurant describes itself as, “more than just a restaurant… an experience.”
- Etch—A little expensive, but very good with an award-winning chef.
- The Pharmacy—Yes it has a weird name, and no, they don’t sell medicine. The Pharmacy is a burger and wurst joint with good sodas. Less fancy but more affordable.
- Arnold’s Country Kitchen—If you’re not looking for anything fancy, check out this southern, mom and pop Meat and three.
Desert:
- The Soda Parlor—Shakes, floats, ice cream sandwiches, and an arcade. Eat delicious dessert while playing classic video games.
- Five Daughters Bakery—This family-owned business bakes delicious donuts. As much as possible, they use organic and locally sourced ingredients. They serve vegan and paleo options.
- Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams—A delicious ice cream shop.
Bars:
After some research, Amanda finds some great bars including:
- Tootsies—This bright purple honkey-tonk is world famous, and it has a rooftop viewing area.
- The Big Bang—An all-request dueling piano bar.
- The Stage—A honkey-tonk with live country music.
- L27 Rooftop Bar—This bar is expensive but has great views of the city.
- Old Glory—A speakeasy-style bar with a great atmosphere. Look for the gold triangle around the door because it doesn’t have a sign.
- The Patterson House—An upscale cocktail bar.
Activities:
Amanda wants her best friend to feel pampered before her special day. Deciding to get Manis and Pedis, she considers two local salons, Poppy & Monroe and Athenian Nail Spa & Bar. She also sees suggestions to visit the gardens at Gaylord Opryland. Why would she want to visit a hotel she’s not staying at? She’s assured she’ll understand when she gets there. Also, since she’s visiting near Christmas, she can see their ICE! attraction.
Nashville is famous for its murals and Amanda decides to tour them while she’s here: a perfect photo opp for her and her friends. She finds a list and selects her favorites. Also, she decides to take the bride-to-be to Nashville’s John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge for great views of the city. After that, the group can tour Nashville’s many beautiful parks.
Amanda also plans to visit Green Hills Mall for shopping. And, of course, since Nashville is the Country Music Capital of the World, she’ll also tour the Country Music Hall of Fame. Afterward, they can test their knowledge and teamwork skills at The Escape Game.
